Spring is here and it is time to go fly kites
The first set was taken at the U.S. Naval Academy on April 6, 2003. This
kite fly was sponsored by the Navy Fleet and Family Support Center.
All photographs are copyright 2003 John Horm
Some of the kites were handmade
and some of the kids even allowed their parents to help.
Some like those below were store-bought.
In the end it doesn't matter where the kite came from, everybody had a wonderful time.

The set below are from the kite fly at St. John's College on April 19, 2003
This kite was bought by a Midshipman in about 1972 for a date. It worked, he married his date and they are still married.
This was a largely overcast day but there were hundreds of participants who had a great time.
Helium filled balloons are a novel way to get a up!
